Grand Cayman Cobalt Coast Dive Trip

Grand Cayman Cobalt Coast Dive Trip

·

We signed up to go to Little Cayman and stay on that island.  Hurricane Gustav went through Little Cayman and took out part of the dive resort we were going to stay at.  The trip was re-booked to Grand Cayman at Cobalt Coast.  The resort was very nice and the food was great.  The shore diving was good but the Dive Tech boats didn’t run very well.  We were stuck a couple of times just making our way from the broken boat back to the resort by diving at a sprint back through the water.  We did dives on some of these sites: Bears Paw, Shore east of the Dive Resort, Princess Penelope Pinnacle, Sand Dive Site, Tarpon Alley, Hepp’s Pipeline and three dives from the shore at Cobalt Coast.

We went with a group of guys that have been meeting for years and diving together.  Denny knows Doug from Angola who was coordinating the trip and that is how we got hooked up to go to Little Cayman.  But as I said, unfortunately Mother Nature got in the way and we ended up in Grand Cayman.  Trust me; the diving on Grand Cayman is not Bloody Bay Wall!  Overall we dove with a great bunch of guys.  The socializing was great and the diving was ok.
